![]() Wednesday, September 14, 2005 So pumped! I don't know if it is all the water I've been drinking or the fact that I have been exercising the last 2 days but I am totally pumped this morning. Both Monday and yesterday I have been doing crunches, squats and lunges when I get up in the morning and have also successfully managed 30min walks in the afternoons. Monday was a gentle one to get back in the swing of things but yesterdays was just awesome. Peter was 20mins late home from work and I was dressed and ready to go as I was watching the rain clouds building. As soon as he was in the door I was out. Now I live on a big loop and doing 2 laps from my house takes around 30 mins (depending on my speed) and is 3kms. I started off at a normal steady pace but the clouds were getting darker and bigger. I had done just over 1 lap and was 17mins into my walk when I felt little spots. Kept going but totally picked up the pace because I wanted to be close to home if it started. With 25mins down and 2mins from home I knew it was going to start so sent Pete a SMS to bring out my rain coat. As the house came into sight I saw him standing out there but the rain started to so went into a jog. He was expecting me to come from the other way so I came up behind him, grabbed the jacket and kept jogging as I put it on and then slowed back into a walk with 3 mins left to go. I felt so exhilerated. I ended up doing the best distance in my 30min with 2 laps and more. I walked the last 45 secs with my hood off, just enjoying the rain and feeling so good. I think it was just what I needed to get back into things. Everyday I have increase the amount of crunches I do by 5. And yesterday I did my personal best with my lunges of 20 on each leg and 25 squats for the day. Today my thighs felt the lunges I had done yesterdays so this morning I only did crunches and 10 squats. But when I got to work I thought whats the use in that. If I stopped everytime my body reacted to exercise I wouldn't be where I am today and while no-one was around I did 5 lunges on each leg. Will continue this throughout the day, so my body can adjust. I am so determined to make the most of this challenge. I feel so motivated and actually quite awesome today that I just want to bottle this feeling to use on low days. So that's about it for today. I will just leave you with a verse of one of my motivational songs on my MP3 that I walk to. "I am a fighter! I ain't gonna stop! There is no turning back! I've had enough!" I CAN DO THIS Until later Bye ![]() |
